## Series 33, Card 9 - MURASAKIPEPE

They created a total of 4 cards for the Rare Pepe series including [NOBUSHIPEPE](https://pepe.wtf/asset/NOBUSHIPEPE) and [HARAKIRIPEPE](https://pepe.wtf/asset/HARAKIRIPEPE).&#x20;

The [original image](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Murasaki-Shikibu-composing-Genji-Monogatari.png) is titled *"Murasaki Shikibu composing Genji Monogatari (Tale of Genji)"* which was created in the late 17th century by Japanese artist [Tosa Mitsuoki](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tosa_Mitsuoki). [Murasaki Shikibu](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murasaki_Shikibu) was a Japanese novelist, poet and lady-in-waiting at the Imperial court in the Heian period. She is best known as the author of [*The Tale of Genji*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tale_of_Genji), which is widely considered to be one of the world's first novels, written between about 1000 and 1012.

**Series 33, Card 23** - [PEPEAFRIKEK](https://pepe.wtf/asset/PEPEAFRIKEK) was created by artist [Zed Erwan](https://pepe.wtf/artists/Zed-Erwan). He created a total of 12 cards for the Rare Pepe project. This is one of Zed's hand drawn cards which was done in ball-point pen first and then colored digitally.
