Series 8, Card 5 - RPCAGENT was created by an unknown artist and this was their only card contributed to the Rare Pepe series. The original image was taken from Season 8, Episode 10 of the American animated sitcom called The Simpsons which was entitled "The Springfield Files". The episode was a parody of another show called The X-Files which stared David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. Both actors were "Simpsonized" for the episode and did their own voiceovers. It originally aired on January 12, 1997.
Series 8, Card 28 - PEPEJIRAIYA was created by an unknown artist. They created a total of 6 cards for the Rare Pepe series including two hand drawn cards - ENDRACISMPE and FLYINGACEPEP.
The original woodblock print entitled "Actor Ichikawa Danjûrô VIII as Jiraiya" was created by the Japanese artist Utagawa Kunisada in 1852.
Series 8, Card 32 - PEPERUS was created by an unknown artist. They crated a total of 8 cards for the Rare Pepe project. The card depicts a shirtless Pepe with a gold "P" pendant dangling from a gold chain around his neck riding a bear through a river or stream. The source photo (shown above) is of Russian President Vladimir Putin riding a horse. The text on the card is Bulgarian and roughly translates to "pepper".
Series 8, Card 45 - BERNIEPEPE was created by the artist known as EverydayEarth as a commission for RarePepeTrader, who is an OG in the Rare Pepe Telegram group and runs the WTH Auction House.
The man pictured on the card is the American politician and activist Bernie Sanders. The text on the card is a parody of a talking point that Sanders used several times while campaigning to become the President of the United States including on July 1, 2015 in Madison Wisconsin.
RarePepeTrader stated recently in the official Telegram chat room that he issued 1,889 BERNIEPEPE cards because that was the number of delegates he won at the 2016 Democratic Party presidential primaries, however according to this article, the actual number was 1,865. This article puts the number at 1,893 so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Series 8, Card 48 - KUNISADAPEPE was created by DanDarkPill and was part of his "Rare Pepe History of Art Series". The cards in this series all stated "No. xx of 24" however only 7 cards made it into the Rare Pepe directory. The original Ukiyo-e wood block print entitled "Two Samurai" was done by the Japanese artist Utagawa Kunisada between the years 1849-1853.
